62 2015 ASHA 50 different types of seniors housing, ranging from inde- pendent living to assisted living and memory care to continuing care retirement communities. A mix of communities for a variety of income levels will be showcased along with buildings in suburban and urban settings. Interviews with seniors and their adult children will provide powerful examples to help consum- ers connect personally to the senior living experience. ASHA members will play an important role in help- ing promote the program. Members will be able to link their websites to the new consumer education website. "It will be incredibly important for members to use this resource," says Bowe. Another crucial element of the program is a social media and public relations campaign. Facebook and YouTube will be used to distribute information about the website. ASHA will dovetail its efforts with the social media campaigns of members. LinkedIn, the social network for executives and professionals, will be used to reach the senior living advocate community. These professionals include the infuencers who have a vested interest in senior living such as government agencies on aging, policy analysts, healthcare providers and social workers. "It's important for professionals who have been at arm's length of seniors housing to take a closer look," says committee chair Bowe. "We want visibility with these folks."
