Alz- heimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States today, with an estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages living with the disease. These numbers are expected to escalate rapidly in the coming years, as the baby boomer generation has begun to reach age 65 and beyond, the age range of greatest risk of Alzheimer's. Raising Awareness ASHA has created a National Team in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, the nation's largest event to raise aware- ness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. In 2015, ASHA member companies formed nearly 2,400 teams, and raised over $5.1 mil- lion for the Alzheimer's Association. Walks Held Nationwide We encourage readers to join the Walk to End Alzheimer's by participating in one of 600 Walks held nationwide.
